Nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid, one of those accused of the death of Diego Maradona in November 2020, will appear this Wednesday in a new hearing set by Judge María Coello. The woman, who is currently charged with "intentional homicide," must attend the San Isidro courts at 10 AM, where the case is being processed.
In this hearing, the date for the jury trial is expected to be set, which would begin in mid this year, following the ordinary trial that has Leopoldo Luque, personal physician of the former footballer, and Agustina Cosachov, the psychiatrist, as defendants. Both professionals are also implicated in the process, initiated after Maradona's death in a gated community in the town of Tigre, on November 25, 2020.
Psychologist Carlos Díaz, nurse Ricardo Almirón, his superior Mariano Perroni, clinical doctor Pedro Pablo Di Spagna, and the coordinating doctor of a private health insurance, Nancy Edith Forlini, are also facing charges.
In the trial, testimonies from people close to Maradona and related to the case are expected. Among them are Dalma and Giannina Maradona, Verónica Ojeda, Rocío Oliva, lawyer Matías Morla, and the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia. Additionally, the appearances of Maradona's sisters, Ana Estela and Rita Mabel Maradona, former president of Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata Gabriel Pellegrino, lawyer Mario, and journalists Nelson Castro and Marcela Tauro are anticipated.
